Not Ants

It was not ants Gypsy was digging for, but I don't know what they are. I saw one fly into the hole and this morning Gypsy found one and ate it. Then she caught this one the I got from her before she ate this one. You would think it stung her.

I just love this picture of Gypsy and Molly. I was stopped at the end of the drive way and it looks like Molly is checking for traffic. Gypsy didn't stay very long in this spot, but she doesn't stay in any spot really long. This is also the last photo before she got a hair cut.

Right now I think I like her better with a little more hair on top of her head.

But she is still cute.

Found Something

In the drive-way there are a lot of little ant holes.

Gypsy found them so she goes around digging bigger holes trying to get them.

Thank goodness they are not fire ants. I did have a few mounds in my yard, but hopefully the Over and Out will keep them out. I still have fire ants in the pasture, but if I can keep them out of the yard, I'll settle for that.
My pretty clematis!

This is an evening primrose that I planted last year. It only bloomed in the morning last year and was just half as tall. This year it bloom in morning and evening. Pretty, pretty.

And these are my coneflowers coming back from last year. You can also see some baby coneflowers growing. Yea!

And this is Gypsy digging. She has found a good spot to dig. Under the porch steps. I'm good with it. Dig all she wants to there.

Neighbors Wildlife

That I hope she keeps on her side of the road. I was visiting my cousin that lives less than a fourth of a mile from me on the other side of the road. About 5:00pm this raccoon was out in her yard.

On the other side of the tree, she has corn out for the deer. Under the tree she has peanuts, cat food and sun flower seeds.

She said two coons and one cat come to eat the treats. First come, gets the best.

Early bird gets the worm, or coon gets the peanuts.

Happy Chickens

My brother went to the Canton, Texas flea market last weekend and came back with me a present. Love my sign.

So today my chickens laid twenty-one eggs. I have twenty-four laying hens. One is in a cage for a few days because she is broody. For the last three or four days I have only gotten twelve or thirteen eggs. I believe they had a hiding spot and last night something got all the eggs; so back to the nest.

Surprises

This actually happened last month. I kept noticing chickens on my little tray on the front porch. I think the enticement was the flowers (fake) I had laid there. Story goes I was yakking to my sister and I laid them on the tray and failed to move them for weeks. Back to the story, I checked for several days to make sure the chickens weren't laying there. Nope.

The next week I was just getting home one day and saw a chicken jump down. Bingo. Three eggs. I think it was Who Dat the Americana. They are blue, so it does narrow it down. After I got the eggs, I then stored the flowers. No more eggs there.

Today everyone (dogs) got a rawhide treat. Gypsy is the only one still chewing on hers. Molly is laying close, like we are best friends, just in case she drops it. Molly and Gypsy play so well together. I'm so lucky!
Hope everyone has stayed warm the last couple of days. A record low was set yesterday in our area. 39 degrees Saturday morning. Unreal.

Gypsy, The New Family Member

I picked her up Monday afternoon. She is a four month old Snorkie. At least I think that is what she is. When I went after her, I was told it was a Yorkie, but she has the look of a Snorkie and the lady giving her to me is a groomer and thinks she is a Snorkie also. The lady that bought her decided she didn't want her and just gave her to her groomer. The groomer already had thirteen dogs she has rescued and was just looking for a home for her.

She is a sweet little puppy. I was told her birthday was December 19,2012. My brother thinks she is older because of the way she runs and looks. She is fast. I am so proud of Molly and Chili for accepting her so well. Molly plays really well with her and Chili lets her get away with a lot without snapping at her. Chili really surprised me.

We had been running and playing; she is resting on the porch now.

Tuesday I went out to feed my fish; right off the bat, she fell in. It didn't seem to scare her.

Playing tug of war with Chili.

After she eats, she goes to all other dishes and makes sure they didn't leave anything. This is her making another swipe at her dish; clean it up good. There might be a crumb left. I have got to tell you, I forgot how tough this potty training is. My, my, my.
