"Get off me. I was here first." As many nest as I have set up around here, they only want to use about three or four of them.
And when someone is on the nest that they want, they really kick up a fuss. If the barred rock is the first to the nest, you see what happens.

I have two hens who fight over a nest. At least I think they do... they don't make any noise... they just sit in the nest together. Friends?

Too funny...
Mine fought over one nest all summer. It resulted in a lot of broken eggs! I was ready to stew some of those hens, let me tell ya. Now no fighting and no eggs cuz of moulting. Nine hens and I'm buying eggs. Not LOL.
