Playing opossun

This morning after I got up and let the dogs out, (and it is still dark) and went and got my paper, Oscar is in the back just barking away. I went back in the house and was drinking coffee and listening to Fox and Friends and reading the newspaper. I multi task! He kept on and on and on. So finally I went out to see what was up. He was in my shed just barking away. I thought he had a cat treed in the shed. It was a opossum. I finally get it pushed out and Oscar attacked it. So it played dead. It is no fun attacking something that is dead. You nudge a frog, it just won't hop. You nip at a opossum, it just want move.

So, I pick the opossum up by the tail and take it to the edge of the woods. Then I remembered; I should be taking pictures. I took these pictures and Oscar and I left. Later this morning after I got back home, I went to check; yep, he was gone. Just playing opossum.

It really was a good thing Oscar found the opossum because one of my hens went in the shed early to lay an egg. Not good.
