A Little Windy

This was my umbrella at my little fish pond. The wind picked it straight up and then slammed it on my concrete bench.

Ha, ha! I knew I would forget to put in down on a windy day, so I put an old one up. I already had one broken rib. I think it's threw.

The storms haven't started here yet. I'm about ready for bed, so probably in a couple of hours it will come through and I will be back up.

YEA, RAIN, YEA!

As you might have guessed, we are in need of rain around here. I live in a drought area. Thank the Lord, not as bad as some areas in Texas.

I like this picture with the rain running off the roof. Pretty cool, huh.

We had three showers this morning. Well, a couple were a little more than showers. How about thunderstorms. I am also thankful we weren't in any severe thunderstorms or tornadoes.

My little Japanese Maple is really looking pretty. It has the little flower seeds hanging now.

Bad side of thunderstorms; all of my dogs are afraid of thunder and lighting.

"Nope, will not look at the camera. Don't care how many times you call my name."

I have one stella d'oro lily blooming.

Tree Cutting

A couple of weeks ago, my friends had some trees cut down. That was an amazing thing to watch.

It really is an art bouncing around up in a tree. He did a good job.

I had a tree cut down at my place last weekend, but these are the best pictures. Family and friends were there to help clean up. Fun, fun, fun. I watched!

Mating Season

I was out at the pond this morning, yea, fish eggs. The little fish were swimming furiously around. It looks like they are chasing each other.

Wrong. I think it is frog eggs. I have never seen them wrapped around a plant like that.

But the fish eat the eggs, and they didn't bother with these eggs.

But they were really yumming up the roots of the water hyacinths.

Oh well. No baby fish. I don't know, do they lay more that once a year?

Poor, Poor Chili

Poor little Chili is not panting because she is so hot; she is in pain and stressed. She was playing fetch the ball with Mike when she had an accident. The ball landed in the patio wire chair; she found it though. She jumped in the chair and got the ball, but when she was jumping out her toe nail hung in the wire frame. Ouch! She ripped the whole toe nail out of her toe. I went home right quick and got the styptic powder to stop the bleeding. Mike put ice in a towel and wrapped it around her foot to help the swelling.

She sat in Mike's lap for awhile and got pampered. Poor little thing.

This is the picture of her nail that was ripped out.

Now four day later this is what her toe looks like. She wasn't eager for me to take the picture, of course she doesn't like having her picture taken at any time. She doesn't limp, but it is still a little swollen.
