Smells Really Bad

But that's okay. Got to have it. He had just finished putting out my first load of chicken house fertilize.

Here comes the second load. The horses had just finished eating their supper and they started freaking when the truck came by. You talk about a couple of divas. They do put on a show. Sorry I didn't get a picture of them acting the fool.

There is a fifty percent chance of rain tonight and tomorrow. I sure hope I get some to settle the smell. Plus, I want it to hurry and soak in; the sooner the better.

Allergies and Ears

Skylar had to go to the vet again yesterday; diagnosis bacteria in her ears and allergies that make her scratch and gnaw all the time.

She had medicine put in her ears and shots at the vet's office and she has medicine to take at home for several weeks. Then we hope we are well.

Rainy Day

Nothing else to do; just chew on a rawhide. It had just started sleeting this morning at six thirty when I went out for the paper. It was thirty-four degrees so it didn't stick.

It has been doing this on and off all day. Mostly a drizzle then rain a little harder. It has only rained a little over one-half an inch. I think it will be stopping soon. It's warmed up to thirty-eight degrees so far; but it's suppose to warm up to forty-six tonight.

The little biddies are braving the wet and cold to get a little bird seed (which I'm out of and don't want to go to the store). I had put three Americana and three brown eggs out for Loretta to nest. I don't know what all I have, but two of the Americana didn't hatch.

Time to get back under. Too cold.

Early Bird Gets The Worm

Or,..... early deer get the corn. It doesn't take long to learn you need to get there early.

I know it doesn't look like it, but I think most of these were just born early summer.

Baby Chicks

Thursday I had four baby chicks to hatch out. She had six eggs, but two, Americana eggs, didn't hatch. That's okay. I hope I don't have four little roosters.

This is the first day they have been out. Boy is it cold. We haven't had much cold weather this year. It only makes sense, baby chicks hatch, it has to be cold. It is going to get down to about twenty tonight.

"Let me under! I'm cold"

I put a little feed out in front of them and put a Biddie water dish them. Iris said she wanted some of that water.

It's Hay Time

I know, I dropped off the radar for awhile. Hopefully, I'm back.

Every morning I put out a couple of blocks of hay for Poppet and Suki. It was probably about 8:30 this morning when I looked out and Poppet is just looking and waiting. Suki was nibbling at the "grass". That's nibbling because there is just a couple of little blades of grass.

When Poppet saw I had the camera, she walked off; as far as the gate. "Are you coming?"
