Off to the feed store to get horse feed. TO GET HORSE FEED. I need to focus. They had some more baby chicks. Americana; just what I wanted. These are light colored, whereas, my other ones are dark. Anyway, I couldn't resist. See the little yellow one by the tree. She wants to hang with the big girls.
It seems she follows just a special one right now. They both were really scared at first, but they seem to be mingling in. Sometimes the bigger ones would peck the little ones but now they are doing good.
This was the other one. She was tired and sleepy. Just had to have a little nap. I have brought everyone in for the night and everyone is doing okay.

Baby chickens are unbearably cute. When I found out what Cornish game hens were, I stopped eating them.

So hard to resist baby chicks. I'm going Monday to go get some more laying hens and I can't wait. I love the sound of the peeps, although the dogs think they are a snack!
There is something distinctly zen about the way you have presented the chick and the chickens...

The chicks are so cute! We plan to get some chicks in the Spring. Looks like fun. Nice you have sun.
I almost had the same problem the other day. Went to TSC for chicken feed and they had one tub of chicks.
Fortunately for me they were an odd breed that I didn't want, so I came home chick-less. I need more chickens like I need a hole in the head!
