Mating Season

I was out at the pond this morning, yea, fish eggs. The little fish were swimming furiously around. It looks like they are chasing each other.

Wrong. I think it is frog eggs. I have never seen them wrapped around a plant like that.

But the fish eat the eggs, and they didn't bother with these eggs.

But they were really yumming up the roots of the water hyacinths.

Oh well. No baby fish. I don't know, do they lay more that once a year?

Some fish do. But I've never had goldfish and don't know anything about their spawning habits.

Interesting though, for sure! :)
