Inside Out

I found the mushroom that looks inside out. The last picture is not good, but you can see that is really different.

I think there were some like it under the big oak tree by the pond -- they look like they have a brownish-grey top and white gills. It looks like it went inside out as it matured -- some of them do that! There were a lot around mom and dad's yard when we were there. Did you ever see the big yellow bolettes by the driveway? I'm pretty sure I found an amanita virosa -- the most deadly mushroom -- between the shop and the road. They look so pretty, bright white. I wish I had brought my mushroom guides! There are some good websites for mushrooms -- I'll forward you the web address of the one I think is most helpful in identifying. The biggest problem with identification is that most guide material is geared toward the northeast and northwest, not the southern states. I wonder if we do have morrels there?
